Bio — Kristen Havens
I am a creative strategist and content developer with a background in writing, publishing and television commercial production. Prior to starting 563, I worked for five years in editorial and marketing for a small publisher, Tallfellow Press of Los Angeles. Before that, I wrote and oversaw digital media for the non-profit sector and edited and produced television commercials for political candidates, casinos, sports teams, and the shipbuilding industry.
I have written for a variety of sites including AOL/FamilyEdge, PopPolitics, and The Houston Chronicle TV blog. As a professional blogger, I’ve been featured by MSNBC Small Business, The Washington Post, The Hartford Courant, and Slate.

Why the Name, “563″?
563 is the telephone exchange where I lived when I first discovered call-waiting, and its amazing ability to gather an endless string of people on the same phone call. To me, that’s the epitome of old-school social media.
